Disneyland’s Lightning Lane lets you bypass standby queues for popular attractions using either Single Pass or Multi Pass options. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly Genie+) allows advance booking for select rides (listed below) plus it includes PhotoPass downloads. The Lightning Lane Single Pass is available for high-demand rides like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers and can be purchased individually. You can reserve Lightning Lanes through the Disneyland app starting at 7:00 AM for hotel guests and at park entry for everyone else.
Lightning Lane Eligible Rides
Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows guests to skip the line at the included attractions, once per ride per day. Once you have entered the park for the day, these reservations can be made through the Tip Board in the Disneyland app.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows guests to skip the line at the included attractions, once per ride per day. Once you have entered the park for the day, these reservations can be made through the Tip Board in the Disneyland app.
Keep in mind that if you use Lightning Lane Multi Pass and get a ride breakdown during your window to ride, you may receive a Multiple Experiences pass. If you tap it, there is a link to tell you all the rides you can use it for. (And the rides for which it is not eligible.)
When you're eligible to book, go to the Tip Board in the Disneyland app and find an attraction showing “Book Experience.” Tap it to see the current return window—these are offered on a rolling basis and can't be chosen far in advance. If you're park hopping, tap Change Park at the top; only rides with return times after 11 a.m. are available for your second park. Be aware times can shift while booking, so confirm the new return time works for your plans. If needed, you can modify after booking.
Pro tip: The Tip Board defaults to Disneyland Park, so use the search (🔍) tool to find attractions in either park quickly.
You can book your next ride after:
If you book a ride more than two hours away, you can book again 2 hours later. The app will show your next eligible time when you try to book—or under “Confirm Your Party” if you’re too early. Consider setting an alarm to stay on track.
Yes—if your return window is more than 2 hours out. For example, if you book Guardians of the Galaxy at 10 a.m. for 12:30 p.m., you can book Incredicoaster at noon. This allows for overlapping selections. You can also stack a Single Pass alongside a Multi Pass.
That’s expected on busy days. You’ll be able to book again after two hours. For example, if you book a 6 p.m. ride at noon, your next selection becomes available at 2 p.m. Use the Modify button to change rides or times without resetting the clock. Avoid canceling unless necessary, as that does reset the timer.
To try for an earlier time, pull down to refresh. If something better appears—grab it fast!
Slightly. Lightning Lane Single Pass lets you pay à la carte for top-tier rides like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. These also show the next available time only, and can only be booked after entering a park. If you plan to park hop, wait until a time after 11 a.m. appears before booking. Single Passes cannot be modified, so double-check your plans before purchase.

You can book Multi Pass and Single Pass selections for your second park while still in your first—just wait until the return time is 11 a.m. or later. This lets you plan ahead and ride sooner after hopping.

You can modify your Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection to change the time, attraction (in the same park), or party size—without resetting your booking window. If needed, you can also cancel, but be cautious: return times for popular rides may be hours later or unavailable. Use “Modify” whenever possible to preserve flexibility.
No. You’re only limited to one use per ride, but you can modify or cancel your reservation before redeeming it. If you miss your window, canceling frees up the slot—but you’ll need to wait until you’re eligible to rebook, so modify before your time expires when possible.
No—Lightning Lane Single Passes are final. You cannot cancel or modify them once booked.
Yes—there’s a grace period. You can scan in 5 minutes early or up to 15 minutes late. If you're later than that, you can ask a Cast Member for help, especially if a delay was beyond your control (like a ride breakdown). They may let you through, but it’s up to their discretion.
Not quite. You’ll wait in a much shorter line, but not skip it entirely. On busy days, even Lightning Lanes can have a wait. Using MagicBand+ helps speed up entry versus scanning individual codes on phones. Just be mindful of not blocking other guests while scanning in.
